Snowy Winter <Skiing>
There are several ski complexes located in and around the lake. The Shirakaba Resort Ski Slopes is a convenient ski resort with two ski lifts 230 feet of vertical descent. Not only we are the family friendly Ski complex, it’s a perfect place for beginners to start Ski Experince, Practice here, before you have your ski debubt in Hakuba . 2 in 1 Ski Slopes offer eleven runs for beginners and intermediates alike. For those who want to schuss in peace, Shirakaba International Ski Slopes doesn’t allow snowboarders, who tend to be more daring with their descents. Another option for those traveling by car is Kurumayama Highland Ski Slopes—accessible via the Venus Line, a scenic road that overlooks the entire Lake Shirakaba and surrounding areas.
The seven ski areas around the Kurumayama Highlands boast 80% clear days and the 360-degree panorama vista provides views of Mt. Fuji, the Japanese Alps, Mount Asama and Yatsugatake. The high elevation means great skiing conditions, and the area is known for its long, dependable season (typically from early December to early April). Convenient access from both the Chuo and Joshin'etsu Expressways.

Alts Bandai in Japan is a ski resort that’s a good all-rounder. Alts Ski Resort has lots of bells and whistles and continues to be modernised. Unlike many other Japanese ski resorts, Alts Bandai is definitely not stuck in a bubble era time warp! Alts primarily has a reputation for family friendliness as well as being a hip mecca for park junkies.
The “Alts Snow Park & Resort” refers to the Alts family of ski resorts which consists of Alts Bandai on the south (front) face of Mount Bandai, and Nekoma Ski Resort on the north or back face (Ura-bandai).

Snowy Winter <Skiing>
The Inawashiro Ski Resort is made up of two sides that are interconnected via the slopes and lifts for intermediate riders and above. The Center Area (Chuo) is the slightly larger side which has green trails at the base and red (intermediate) trails towards the top, whilst Minero has green trails at the bottom, red in the middle, and a couple of black piste at the top. Inawashiro Japan is blessed with plenty of snowfall, but the quality of the powder isn’t the sublime type that Japan skiing is typically renowned for. Akin to nearby Alts Bandai, the elevation of the Inawashiro Ski Resort is a little low relative to other Honshu resorts, and the aspect is not particularly favourable so it’s best ridden when the snow is fresh.
